For the last 6 months I have been waiting for this knife. As I was opening the box, all I was hoping for is that this knife would be close to the quality that my sebenza is. I can say this with ZERO reservation.... #sebenzakiller@dpxgear you guys knocked it out of the park. You have to make more, I need a few of these. Hands down the best folder i've ever owed. @robertvickphotography

Good Afternoon!

I just wanted to take a moment and let you know I received the knife, and its incredible!

Its obvious that a lot of time and effort went into its production, as the fit and finish is fantastic! I cant wait to see how the battleship grey titanium wears/breaks in with use.I have most of DPx's knives, but the Urban is my favorite You have truly outdone yourselves on this project, I am extremely happy to have been a part of it!

Regards,

Matt M.

The Urban is a beauty! I do love the action, smooth and quick! Thanks again for making a quality product!

Thanks again!

Daryl

...love the results of the campaign. I have some of the larger HEST/F and one of the HEAT knives and a few of the Aculus knives (including a Blackwater). I have to say I think this is the perfect middle ground between the larger HEST and the HEAT for me. The bead blast finish has a wonderful texture.

Got mine today. What a great knife. Couldn't be happier. I'm torn between adding it to my collection or using it as an EDC, should have bought two.

Received mine this morning! I could not be more pleased in the quality and workmanship. Opens smooth as silk. Solid feel and built like a tank! The extras were very much appreciated. I really like the sheath. Smells good too. The wait was well worth it, because: the final product reeks with quality and beauty!!!

Thanks and congratulations to#dpxgear for delivering the best#madeinamerica #kickstarter campaign I've ever supported. This blade is top notch and boasts an incredible feature-set for its size. Small squabbles aside, the overall quality is excellent, and I greatly look forward to putting the #hestf #urban through its titanium scale - S30V steel - bottle cap torquing - glass breaking - screw-driving - and wire-stripping paces. @slicksd

It is  a rare moment when a product, a designer, and a legacy blend into one perfect moment. Robert Young Pelton has been working and living in the bush, war zones, and dangerous places since he was ten. He designed his first knife in 2008, and 17 years  and over two dozen patents later, he is still perfecting the Hostile Environment Survival Tool—a proven design that is beautiful, ergonomic, dependable, and functional. In that obsession lies an ancient concept of elegance, form, and function, designed to be used roughly and to age with grace.  This is a perfection of that vision.

Learn about the legendary man, Billy Waugh and see the knife he inspired:  The RYP and Bill Harsey Designed, Billy Waugh DEMO Folder.

RYP first met Billy when he was writing his book Licensed to Kill, Hired Guns in The War on Terror.  Driving his cop Harley across the country during the winter, Billy graciously took out time from his wedding day to meet at the local Waffle House.

The two men - one an author, and one an operator, both veterans of numerous hot spots often at the same time - hit it off immediately. They have been fast friends ever since.
